The 2024 FBS Forum in Indonesia, which was held at Medan State University, was attended by former LPTK (Education Personnel Education Institutions) throughout Indonesia, namely UNESA, UPI, UM, UNJ, UNNES, UNY, UNP, UNM, UNIMA, UNG, UNDIKSHA and UNIMED as hosts.
The initial discussion on the preparation of the FBSI forum was held online via Zoom on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, by the host of the State University of Medan (UNIMED). With the theme:
"Strengthening the Tridharma of Higher Education in the Field of Language, Literature, Art and Design Towards a World-Class University"
It is hoped that all of these former LPTK PTN can develop, collaborate, innovate, adapt, and establish close cooperation to realize a university that can compete at the world level.
The Faculty of Languages and Arts, State University of Medan, was honored to host the implementation of the Indonesian Faculty of Languages and Arts Forum. The forum is planned to be held in July in Prapat. For this reason, to prepare for the implementation of the FBSI Forum, FBS UNIMED held an online Discussion on Preparation for the Implementation of the FBSI Forum. All the deans of FBS, vice deans, department managers, and heads of study programs throughout Indonesia attended the activity.
In his remarks, comments, directions, and opening of the FBSI Forum, Mr. Syafiul Anam, Ph.D., said that this forum could be a good vehicle for establishing close cooperation between FBS-based universities. On another occasion, the Dean of FBS Unimed, Dr. Zulkifli, M.Sn., said that the FBSI Forum is a forum to cooperate, integrate, discuss, and share good practices in the management of faculties, departments, departments, and study programs in each university.
"The existence of the FBSI Forum is very strategic for us, for us to jointly respond to and respond to every new policy related to the tri dharma of higher education: education, research, and community service. Together, anticipate and respond to every development of science, technology, and art, as well as various global challenges in the future," said the Dean of FBS Unimed.
In the discussion in the breakout room consisting of the Mandarin Language Education Study Program UNESA, UNJ, UNM, UNNES, UPI Korean Language Education Study Program, and UNIMED English Education Study Program, they agreed on cooperation in improving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 2, 3 and 5, as initiated by the UPI Korean Study Program Coordinator and the FBS UNESA Mandarin Language Education Study Program Coordinator to implement the Implementation Agreement (IA), including 1—lecturers with Off-campus Activities, 2. Students get experience outside the campus through Student Forum activities, and 3. The community uses the work of lecturers through collaborative article writing.
This event will continue to be held offline on July 11-13, 2024, at the State University of Medan (UNIMED).
